Mark Stewart Art Prints

Drawing has been a central part of Mark Stewart's life from a very early age, he says, with his natural talent leading him first to a drafting class and then on to studying architecture at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. While at college in the mid-1970s he began to paint. He was especially interested in watercolor and studied the works of Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, and Edward Hopper. After graduating in 1975 with a master's degree in architecture, Stewart became both an architect and an artist. As an architect, Stewart has designed libraries, museums, and other public buildings. As an artist, he has had many one-man exhibitions since his first in 1980. He is currently represented by galleries including the Morris & Whiteside Galleries in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and the Uptown Gallery in New York City. His work has also been exhibited at the Albuquerque Museum of Art in New Mexico and the Tucson Museum of Art in Arizona, among others. Stewart has painted over 20 works for the Dicke Collection, assembled by Jim Dicke, CEO of Crown Equipment Corporation in New Bremen, Ohio. His work has been featured in Southwest Art, American Artist, and Art Talk magazines.
