Annrika James Art Prints
Known for her versatility in a variety of mediums and subject matter, one thing remains constant throughout Annrika James' work: the experience of grace. Through her natural sense of design she captures and illuminates the inherent beauty and harmony present in all her images.
Trained in the traditional school of drawing and painting, she now works in a more contemporary style, frequently on layered backgrounds and in vibrant colors.
Annrika was born in England to Greek and English parents, and traveled extensively as a child. Surrounded y the fine art and treasures of Europe, she naturally developed a love and appreciation of art and design. She studied at t he William Morris and Central Schools of Art in London and was sponsored by the Royal Society of Arts to study textile design in Europe.
Due to her success in textile design, she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. In 1975 she moved to the US to freelance for many New York City based companies including Dior, Pierre Cardin, and Givenchy. She left the fashion industry and moved to Sedona, Arizona in 1981 to direct her energies toward her first love, painting. She was exclusively represented by the highly respected Elaine Horwitch Galleries, and won several awards for her work.
In 1993 her experience in both fine art and design culminated in a senior design position with the Phoenix Art Group. Painting under her husband's name, McCavitt, she created fine art for private and corporate collections worldwide.
Now, as a solo artist, Annrika James exhibits throughout the United States; her work is both published and included in many American and international collections.
