Jim Holland Art Prints

Jim Holland takes his inspiration from the shore. Originally from upstate New York, the young artist took a vacation in 1978 on Cape Cod. Falling in love with the beach scenery, Holland soon made the area his home. Since that time he has used the shore as the center of his work, examining subjects from Maine to Key West. Holland says, "The light and space near the ocean is expansive. The colors can be brilliant or nearly monochromatic. Forms are given a stage to take on a new significance." Whether working in oils or watercolors, Holland is always looking to reinvent the feelings of solitude and stillness one can sense at the coast.
