Jaco Marx is photographer by passion and a dentist by profession – that is how this talented artist from South Africa describes himself. He was amazed by the beauty of the wildlife from a very young age, and he also fell in love with the landscape of his country. He has always loved art all his life but it was not until 2001 that he held his first camera in his hands. Since then he has been discovering the completely new sights of his home. He currently uses Canon cameras and says they are simply the perfect cameras for his photographs and projects. Marx is not just interested in developing his technical capability – the photographer uses his photo art to help him understand the dynamism and beauty of the nature at his doorway, and to make clear its details more intimately.
This is what Marx also wants to share with all those who view his art photography. His photo art is all about the most beautiful sights of the wilderness of Africa. And it’s exactly in Africa where he takes his photos: in the midst of the bushes in South Africa, where he captures the copious diversity of nature itself. His specialties are portraits of wildlife. They make the viewer feel like they are looking into the soul of the animals in his portraits. You will never find image manipulations like Photoshop in Marx’s photo art. This makes his art photography magical – and even mystical. He loves to be a photographer and cannot imagine himself doing something different.
