Jane Hartley Wall Art

Jane Hartley is an artist who combines an appreciation of the Old Masters and a background in graphic design in her traditional style figurative and still life paintings. Jane is a graduate of The Maryland Institute College of Art. She holds a degree in Fine Art and was involved with the creation of award-winning graphic designs while she was in the corporate world. After some years, she went on to paint for private collectors. Jane’s art is largely influenced by the 17th/18th century artists, and her interest in Flemish and Dutch art led her to study the formulas and techniques of the Old Masters. The artist often uses black oil and glazes, lead primed surfaces, hand ground pigments, which lend to the luminosity and richness of her work. In her still life paintings, the artist enjoys exploring the importance of object symbolism to engage the patron to go beyond the surface to perceive something differently.

In the last 15 years, she’s had several group and solo exhibitions in several locations including Open Range Gallery, Scottsdale, Castle Gallery Fine Art, Fort Wayne, Addison Art Gallery, Orleans, New Gallery Opening, William Ris Gallery, Jamesport, Bonner David Galleries, Scottsdale, Principle Gallery, Alexandria, The Vendue, Charleston, SC, William Ris Gallery, Stone Harbor, Robert Lange Studios, Charleston, William Ris Gallery, Stone Harbor, and The Bennington Center for the Arts, Vermont, among others. Jane’s art can be used to decorate any space that’s why they are popular with people from all walks of life and of all age groups.
