Bo Virkelyst Jensen is an illustrator and designer based in Berlin but was born in Denmark. He has more than 10 years of experience in the art industry. Considered to be a creative commentator, a graphic idealist and a globalist, Jensen using illustration to have fun, make sense and draw attention. Though he’s currently based in Berlin, Germany, he has also been working in Japan, Vietnam, Australia and Denmark. Jensen’s work is based on strong theoretical thinking, and he believes in the simplicity of beauty. He says that simplicity provides better visual communication and less clutter in this world that’s flooded with information. Jensen is the founder of addSoul design studio through which he provides his professional services like creating illustrations, character design, icons and editorial illustration related to brand identities that he designs. Jensen is specialized in vector-illustration with simplicity that’s characteristic of Scandinavian art.
His art has found its way into many prestigious establishments in the world; including galleries, museums, homes, institutions, etc. They are also in many corporate and private collections. Jensen is also the owner of Virkelyst.Design where he hosts his self-initiated projects such as geometric animal illustrations and the quirky forest creatures in BadaBada, Scandinavia. Jensen can often be found travelling to other parts of the world, visiting friends working, and getting to know new places and people. When creating icons and crisp identities for a wide range of clients, he’s always keen to detail and ensures that everything is as realistic as possible. He produces his art in a variety of finishing options.
