Heinrich Pfeiffer Wall Art

Heinrich Pfeiffer (Born in 1874) was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania. He’s also known as Harry Pfeiffer, and is an artist who is best known for his impressionist marine scenes, seascapes and landscapes. He studied with top artists of the day, including Henry McCarter and Hugh Breckenridge at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He also studied at the Art Students League in New York with Carlson F. John. Beginning early 1920s, the artist divided his time between the art colonies of Florida (St. Augustine), where he maintained a studio in Provincetown, Massachusetts and in the Studio Building on Aviles Street. While working in collaboration with Moffett Ross, he initiated the Provincetown Painting Classes. These stressed a modernist approach, and after a short while, he began offering instruction at the Norton Art School in Palm Beach, Florida.

The artist also worked as an illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post and other leading magazines. His art has found their way into many galleries and stores all over the world and they are highly priced by many discerning collectors. He has exhibited in many locations including National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Corcoran Gallery and Art Institute of Chicago. Many of his works have been sold at auction and from 1920 to 1957, his art was included in the Provincetown Art Association show. The artist died in 1960 leaving behind a legacy of artwork.
