Norm Daniels Wall Art

Norm Daniels was born and brought up in San Diego, CA. He’s an island and surf-themed illustrator and artist with a fun and unique impressionistic style working first and foremost with oil on canvas. His love of “plein air” painting has taken him around the world, and he has managed to create scenes from the beauty of The Islands to San Diego county landmarks. The artist also exhibits in galleries in Laguna Beach, San Diego, Puerto Rico and Hawaii, and even the trunk of his car acts as an exhibition room. He has long since painted past moments of renowned big wave friend and surfer, Noll Greg and his fun illustrations and cartoons give nod to his great sense of whimsy and humor. Many of those cartoons have been featured in Surfer Magazine and illustrations of several children's books.

Throughout his life Daniels dabbled in the arts. He used to paint moustaches on posters and scribble Griffinesque waves on his homework books. Occasionally, he could sell something to the unsuspecting public in-between surf sessions out of his VW bus. Daniels studied Architecture in college and after graduation he designed many custom homes in the San Diego area for several years. In 1989 he took his family to the High Sierras where he stayed up to 2005. Here, he served as Architect/Artist for Hume Lake Christian Camps. He also took up painting and sailing to console his longing for surf and water while stranded in said mountains. Daniels returned to San Diego in the summer of 2005 and he’s is now enjoying the opportunity to pursue his artwork.
