Kim Parker is an American fine art artist and a textile designer of great repute. She has been a designer for the textile industry for more than 10 years. Kim also creates designs for prints on home decor items. Although she started off small, she quickly grew due to her artistic skills and business acumen. The year 1995 was a great turning point for her career. It’s the time she began to create a collection of her works of hand-painted silk. Kim quickly became a figure to reckon with in poster printing, art, and prints in the city of New York. She derived her inspirations from Gustav Klimt, Vassily Kandinsky, Gabrielle Munter, among other artists as well as German Expressionist fine art artists. Kim is part of the pop art movement and has endeared so many people to her art due to her unique style. Although she got no formal art education, she honed her skills by experimenting with prints and textiles.

In 2001, she decided to create a personal brand that she has used since for the production and sale of her products. Through her label, she has sold diverse products, ranging from tableware to rugs, stationery to ceramics. She has also sold some through collaborations with international bodies, including Hallmark UK, Dalison, and Graphique de France. Some of her designs have won bestseller awards. “Mums and Asters” design is one of her creative works that won her three highly reputed British awards. She uses watercolor and oil paint where necessary. The quality of Kim’s works has seen them exhibited in different private collections, including Diane Von Fastener, Pottery Barn, Jill Stuart, and more. They have also been featured in high end magazines such as Elle, Oprah Winfrey to mention a few.
