Daniel Kime Wall Art

Daniel Kime (Born 1964) is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. From an early age, Kime showed a discernible talent in two areas of creativity: the visual arts and music. Throughout his early life, he kept swinging back and forth between the two interests and this seemed to be his way of life. His talent was noted by many early enough and he received encouragement and support from those who cared. At the beginning of 1980 and during much of the decade that followed, Kime worked as a professional guitarist in and around the Phoenix area. However, during this time, he was also working on the creation of a personal style of abstract painting. He therefore developed his own way of managing and applying the materials. He worked in many different art forms and today his paintings seem to be a visual equivalent of the more indefinable music sounds.

As he became more experienced in the use of color and line, he began to appreciate the strong correlation between music and painting. The artist made a lot of sense in relating instruments to color and the frequency range into which they fell. The sound dynamics have a profound relationship with the dynamics of shape, line, and color invoking emotion and movement and affecting people on many levels. He says that the quality of a painted or drawn line can be related to the pressure with which a guitar string is struck. A harder pressure corresponds to a heavier broader or line, while a soft line corresponds to gentle plucking of a note.
