Doris Mosler Art Prints

Doris Mosler's work reflects an inner sense of adventure she has followed her entire life. "When I'm working," she declares, "the edge of what is 'given' and what is unknown presents a unique space of 'aliveness,' curiosity about outcome, and finally satisfaction." Traveling widely in Europe, as well as Turkey, India, Nepal, and Tibet, the artist has taken a great interest in the visual imagery, art history, and textiles of each country. Mosler worked for ten years in advertising and visual communications before deciding a freelance creative career would provide her with a greater challenge and sense of freedom. After attending a workshop in monotype, a printmaking technique that produces a one of a kind image, Mosler knew she had found a medium that offered the versatility and energy she desired. She bought her own press and within six months was on the road to becoming a professional printmaking artist. She is now a monotype instructor for Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle. Her work is represented at the Seattle Art Museum Rental and Sales Gallery.
