Pietro Adamo Wall Art

Pietro Adamo (Born 1955) was born in Toronto, Canada. He enrolled in the Art History and Fine Art program at Sheridan College and at the University of Toronto. After graduation, Adamo became a teacher of art at the Chaminade College School in Toronto. At the college, he helped establish a visual arts department that was very strong - one which saw many of his students go on to become prominent fine artists, illustrators, designers, and architects. During his 20 years of teaching, he continued to paint and, in that time, executed several public and private commissions of his work. Adamo travels a lot and this is an important source of inspiration to him; especially trips to his ancestral homeland, Italy. He draws influence from the world around him and from artists of all periods.

During his stays in Italy, he is able to explore architecture and monumental art as well as the small details of the rural landscape. His paintings celebrate his admiration for the inexhaustible and unpredictable record of life. Through his rough contours and textured surfaces, he abandons the conventional renderings of geometric forms. Adamo’s paintings on canvas and paper have a constant audience. His career as an artist has been a journey of continuous growth and exploration. He has also released a highly successful series of hand-pulled posters and prints. Today Adamo’s works can be found in galleries throughout the world. He uses various gel mediums and modeling pastes combined with silica sand to create textured qualities within his pieces that are very unique.
