Catherine Breer Wall Art

Catherine Breer is a Maine artist who grew up in Seoul, Korea. She began painting as soon as she could hold a brush. She returned to the United States in 1982 after attending Seoul Foreign School for 11 years. Her parents served as Methodist missionaries. Catherine earned her B.A. in Art History from Emory University in 1986. She studied painting and illustration at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts white still at Emory University. After graduation, she moved to Boston and studied illustration and painting at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Catherine has several pieces of artwork to her name and has widely sold her artistic works to a number of individuals and companies. Because of the high demand for her creative pieces, several galleries stock ready to mount framed Catherine Breer art while others are availed in a variety of other finishing options. She was strongly influenced by the graphic forms and bold colors unique to Korea where she spent her youth. In early 2004, Catherine, together with Annie Darling founded annie/catherine which markets calendars and cards throughout the United States and internationally.

Catherine began showing her artwork at a solo show in 2001 at the Freeport Public Library in Freeport, Maine. Since then, she has participated in several exhibitions, including "Art In Bloom" exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Catherine paints 3-dimensional works, abstracts of intricate floral patterns, and landscapes of New England and Maine, in whimsical designs and shapes with a vivid and bold palette which is the hallmark of her style.
