Aja Trier Wall Art

Aja Trier has been painting since her age was measured in months. She was lucky to have been born in an artistic family. Her mother was a toll painter so she could give her a cup of water, a brush and some scraps of wood from her projects so she could paint. But it was not until during her last years of high school that she took art seriously. Later, she received a scholarship and was accepted to Montserrat College of Art where she concentrated on painting. In the April of 2003, Aja started a business, Sagittarius Gallery. Aja has shown at several galleries including the gallery walk at Memories on Market LLC in Oshkosh, WI, Robert Dowling Studios and Gallery in Bangor, ME, and Karin Sanders Fine Art in Sag Harbor, NY. She has also done solo shows at the Grille and Gallery in Newburyport, MA.

Aja is most influenced and inspired by Cecily Brown, contemporary examples such as Susan Rothenburg, the Abstract Expressionists such as Rothko, de Kooning, as well as the art that is around her. Her work has been featured by the web zine Pedestal Magazine as well as EBSQ, an online Self-representing artists’ website. Her work has also been shown at the First National Bank of Scotia in Scotia, NY, the Empire State Legislative Building in Albany, NY, and, during her time as a student, at several student shows at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA. Aja is in love with her thick oil paint and palette knife but she uses a bevy of different techniques and media to illustrate her unique vision.
