Carrot Art

Due to this vegetable's bright colors and iconic shape, carrots are often used in whimsical artworks, particularly those meant for children. These works often personify this vegetable and give it human characteristics that are meant to be endearing. Surreal vegetable paintings also make use of this vegetable in their execution, such as in Greg Brown's painting, 'Reclining Salad', where the carrot's bumpy and curved shape is used instead of a leg.

Kitchen art featuring carrots as the main subject usually include other vegetables, as well. This form of vegetable still life images is as interesting as they are diverse. Although some still life images only employ carrots, as seen in Kathy Middlebrook's carrot print, 'Carrots', it's far more common for carrots to be included among other produce.
